The new year brings a parent a fresh perspective on their children's soccer games. A fresh year has swept away the old "our team must win" attitude and uncovered a deeper enjoyment of just watching the kids have fun. The old grinding desire to crush the opposing team has been replaced with a welling up of happiness at simply watching the children learn to finesse the ball into play. Gone is the triumph felt while watching our team members slide tackle the opposing team's under eights. Enter pure joy at observing how well these young people work together to accomplish a GOAL!goal Goal GOAL!! Well, perhaps not. Let's get out there and crush the other team into little kidlet bits! And then off to the hot chocolate stand.
